Lifeguard Training and Junior Lifeguards

Lifeguard Training is offered twice yearly or as needed. This American Red Cross Certification course is open to individuals at least 15 years of age able to meet the prerequisites. The 30 hour course requires perfect attendance at all sessions. Upon successful completion of this course, individuals will receive certificates in Lifeguard training and CPR for the professional rescuer. Individuals interested in Lifeguard Training should contact Paula at 494-3157.

 

Junior Lifeguards is a Red Cross inspired program that will introduce participants to water safety and summer pool operations. The “Guard Start” program touches on many aspects of the Lifeguard Training course in an age appropriate manner. Topics covered include aquatic facility operations, accident prevention, rescue procedures, and appropriate response techniques.

Prerequisites: Ability to swim 200 yds, tread water for 1 minute, and retrieve an object from deep water.

Cost:: $75.00  Minimum 5 people required
